It is the Cougar Mountain Academy policy to admit, encourage to attend and welcome students of any race, color, denomination, nationality and ethnic origin.

Admission is based on the individual potential of each child and compatibility with Cougar Mountain Academy Minimum Grade Standards.  Placement is according to academic standing, maturity, background and future objectives.

Preliminary information is mailed to parent on request.  To assure optimum understanding, all detailed information concerning Cougar Mountain Academy is presented to parents on a one to one basis in person.  Please call for an appointment, (425) 641-2800.

Pre-arranged introductory conference for parent with the Headmaster or Program Director is held at Cougar Mountain Academy Campus, covering familiarization with curriculum, facilities, tuition structure, school standards and other important aspects.

 Student Evaluation Phase                                                                                            Section 4

Students applying for admission in Kindergarten or Grades 1 through 5 visit the Academy and are tested for individual potential and academic standing.  Admission
tests are administered on a one to one basis in an individualized and friendly environment for optimum motivation.

After the admission test, class placement recommendation and test results are presented to parents through a personal conference.

Admission Testing for Pre-Kindergarten is not required.  Due to the complex nature of testing in the early stages of the child’s development, Pre-Kindergarten students are admitted based on individual potential and a personal visit with Headmaster or Program Director.

Class placement is achieved by Teacher(s) through observing and working with the student in an active and friendly classroom environment after child starts School.  Testing and evaluation for the purpose of developing an individualized curriculum for the child takes place within the framework of the first two months of school.

 Tuition Structure                                                                                                                Section 4

The tuition structure at Cougar Mountain Academy is compatible with a select group of area private schools of quality.

The school year is comprised of twelve months (Summer, Fall, Winter and Spring Quarters).  Tuition is charged only for the Fall, Winter and Spring Quarters. Tuition for the Summer Quarter is free for students registered for the remaining nine months (Fall, Winter and Spring Quarters) of the School Year.  The Academic Quarters are compulsory, the free Summer Quarter, which is the first quarter of the School Year, may be attended in part or full.

All students accepted at the Academy are registered for the entire length of the school year, enabling the Academy to make long term plans, commitments and thus offer a compatible tuition rate structure.

Parents are familiarized in detail with the tuition structure, curriculum, facilities, school standards and other important aspects of the Academy during a pre-arranged introductory conference with the Headmaster or Program Director.
