well-designed channels of communication are maintained at the Academy to keep Parents informed on a continuous basis.

The unique channels of communication include areas such as one way observation booths for classrooms, curriculum summaries prepared by Teachers for Parents, comprehensive Parents’ Handbook, the Academy Newspaper, extensive informative material about school procedures and functions, convenient teacher and management availability for conferences, a highly refined and detailed testing and reporting system reflecting the individual student status during the school year and more. The Academy professes that only well informed parents can fully support optimum student performance and continuous excellence.

Parent Involvement

Cougar Mountain Academy parents are an integral part of life at the Academy. Parents do not play an active role in classroom teaching, however, are encouraged to become involved in a variety of exciting and creative roles. Parent volunteers are routinely involved in activities such as: social events, art shows, field trips, fundraising, holiday events, academic events, guest speakers, special demonstrations, science fair, book fair, teacher appreciation week and more.

Parent - Teacher Confrerences & Class Observation

Parents are given the opportunity to conference with Teachers once a week.  In additon, each teacher has an assigned weekly conference day. Parents are encouraged to conference with appropriate Teacher(s) at least twice during the Academic quarters of the school year.

Parents are welcome and encouraged to observe classes.  Classroom observation is limited to one person at a time.  Some classrooms are equipped with one way observation windows.  Classes may also be observed inside the classroom.

Parent - Headmaster Conferences

In order to advance the individual development of each child and promote a satisfying parent and school relationship, parents are asked to conference with the Headmaster during the Academic quarters of the school year.  In the course of this conference parents have the opportunity to discuss matters of importance relating to the child from an overall standpoint.
