Founded in 1962 in Bellevue
Washington, the Academy moved in 1972 to the new, permanent Cougar Mountain Campus
in Issaquah. Cougar Mountain Academy is an independent, coeducational and
non-sectarian private school, established to fulfill with a
high degree of excellence the intellectual, aesthetic, physical,
emotional and social needs of children experiencing the
irreplaceable founding years of life.
Cougar Mountain Academy is a school for gifted or highly capable
children and is dedicated to providing an excellent education for each individual
student. An individualized,
non-graded and non-competitive approach
to learning
combined with the high caliber curriculum enables each student
